Unfortunately, the developers largely behind the pushing of MGS5 aren't present anymore or aren't funded well enough to warrant that they could even improve on MGS' gameplay. This isn't to say they're bad (as the only multiplayer so far has just been the missions solo for me, as again the community is behind a day-lasting link that expires all the time) but that there are obvious spots it could grow on. After having played it, there's a lot of improvements that could up the singleplayer experience or even multiplayer experience. It matters that they basically dropped a massive ball and let the game sink following the wake of MGS5's entire drama.Ģ. It doesn't matter that it's a very fun, passing time sandbox survival game with base management. And admittedly, the fact that they're always a button away ensured that the general view on Survive was that it was a cashgrab. Their MTX strategy and focus (while completely optional and nowhere near "unplayable" or the per save screeching retardisms I keep seeing/saw in its initial PR) buried the game as a greed project. After having played it for some time (and enjoying it, as the survival gameplay is what I'm personally after, even if the Co-op is behind steam groups and ♥♥♥♥), I've realized there's a two-prong reason for it.ġ. Originally, I had nothing but disgust for even the idea of playing Survive.
